Ghost Hunt @ Homewood Library

Join authors and paranormal investigators, Kim Johnston and Shane Busby, on a night time investigation of the haunted Homewood Library. Shane and Kim will be bringing their team of investigators as well as their specialized equipment and conducting a real paranormal investigation with their guests for a second time! The first round of investigations in February yielded lots of evidence, chills and thrills! Click here to see some of the footage! Before this building was a library, it was the Church of Christ. Before that, an old abandoned farm house sat on the land for many years. Library employees have long talked about the numerous strange events that have happened here over the decades from construction workers being scared away from the premises during remodeling to voices and laughter being heard at night when no one else is around. It is not uncommon to have books fly off the shelves here even during the day. Homewood Library's haunting has been written about several times on and is included in Alan Brown's Stories of the Haunted South. We will be using FLIR thermal cameras, spirit boxes, EMF meters, voice recorders, night vision cameras, REM pods, laser grids and motion sensors to detect paranormal activity. This is a rare opportunity to investigate one of Birmingham's most well known ghost stories. A large portion of the proceeds will be donated to the library so this is fun for a good cause! Guests are encouraged to bring voice recorders, cameras and flashlights. Ages 12 and up please. All minors must be accompanied by an adult. Space is limited to ensure all in attendance will be in on the action. Guests will receive an email with a waiver and further instructions at least 1 week prior to the event.
